TAX THE
RICH NY
Advocacy Website Redesign • WordPress
A complete redesign of a stale, neglected advocacy site—modernized, sustainable, and built to keep pace with a movement gaining real momentum.

AT A GLANCE
A movement with momentum. A website stuck in 2021. Not anymore.
THE ORGANIZATION
Tax The Rich NY is a New York advocacy campaign pushing for progressive tax policy to fund public services and reduce inequality. Their mission is urgent, their community is growing—and their digital presence had to match.
THE PROBLEM
Their website hadn't been updated since 2021. As the campaign picked up steam—more press, more events, more supporters—the old site was becoming a liability. It looked abandoned and was nearly impossible for the team to update.
MY ROLE
I handled the full redesign: UX, UI design, and WordPress development. I built a sustainable platform that the campaign team can manage entirely on their own. The only things I didn't create were the logo and brand colors—everything else was mine to build.
THE OUTCOME
A modern, fast, and fully editable advocacy website—delivered quickly so the campaign could get back to what they do best. The team can now update events, publish press, and manage all content independently, no developer required.
THE CHALLENGE
Tax The Rich NY had built real momentum—press coverage, packed events, growing grassroots support. But their website told a different story. Last updated in 2021, it looked like a campaign that had gone quiet.
THREE THINGS WERE HOLDING THEM BACK:
- →A site frozen in time: The old website hadn't been touched in years. In a fast-moving advocacy environment, an outdated site signals inactivity—even when the movement is anything but.
- →The team was locked out: Without an accessible CMS, the campaign couldn't publish new events, share press hits, or update their messaging without waiting on a developer. That bottleneck was costing them momentum.
- →No room to grow: As press coverage mounted and events expanded, the old site couldn't keep up. They needed a platform designed for a movement that was just getting started.
THE MOVEMENT WAS REAL. THE WEBSITE NEEDED TO CATCH UP.
THE NEW PLATFORM
Modern, bold, and fully editable—a site that finally matches the energy of the campaign. See it live at taxtherichny.com →

ERICK STOLL
Campaign Director, Tax The Rich NY
MY ROLE
I handled the complete redesign and build—from the first wireframe to the final deployment. The campaign team came to me with a site that had gone stale. They left with a platform they can run entirely on their own.
The logo and brand color palette were provided by the organization—everything else was built by me.
