Designing and building a fully custom, multilingual digital platform for a New York Assembly campaign—fast, distinctive, and built to mobilize a community.

THE CAMPAIGN
Christian Celeste Tate is running for the New York State Assembly in Brooklyn's 54th District. The campaign needed a digital platform that could match the energy and ambition of a modern grassroots political movement.
THE DISTRICT
Brooklyn's 54th Assembly District is a linguistically and culturally diverse community. Reaching every corner of it required a platform built from the ground up with multilingual capability and community-first design.
MY ROLE
I led the UX strategy, UI design, front-end development, WordPress CMS architecture, multilingual infrastructure setup, and campaign tech integration. The only element I didn't create was the campaign logo—everything else was mine.
THE OUTCOME
A fully custom-built, bilingual campaign website that communicates platform and policy, processes donations through ActBlue, mobilizes volunteers, and empowers campaign staff to manage content independently.
THE CHALLENGE
Political campaigns move fast—and their websites need to keep up. The challenge wasn't just building something that looked good. It was building something that could actually win.
THE PLATFORM NEEDED TO DO EVERYTHING AT ONCE:
- →Generic templates killing the brand: Most campaign sites rely on rigid, off-the-shelf templates that flatten every candidate into the same visual mold. CCT needed a site that looked and felt as distinctive as the campaign itself.
- →A multilingual district with one language: Brooklyn's 54th District is home to a deeply diverse community. A site that only spoke English was leaving half the constituency behind before the conversation even started.
- →Campaign staff locked out of their own site: A fast-paced campaign can't wait on a developer for every content update. The team needed to be able to publish, edit, and manage the site independently—without touching a line of code.
- →Fundraising infrastructure that had to work from day one: Donations are the lifeblood of a campaign. The platform needed to be connected to trusted progressive fundraising tools—without friction, without delay.

MY ROLE
For this project I handled nearly every aspect of the website creation process—from the first wireframe to the final deployment.
The only element not created by me was the campaign logo, and color palette, which was provided by Robert Espinosa.
